    History

Set among the beautiful mountains of northern New Hampshire, The White Mountain School is a college preparatory boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12 and PG. Since our founding in 1886, we have remained true to the original focus of New England boarding schools: the development of mind, body and spirit. We develop the mind through our college preparatory curriculum and through a campus-wide ethos of curiosity and engagement in learning. We develop the body through sports and other physical activities, making full use of our spectacular natural setting. We develop the spirit through reflection, exploration of meaning and purpose, and service in our community and the world. At The White Mountain School, our teachers treat each student as an individual and nourish individual talents and passions. Students graduate with a solid college preparatory foundation and with a strong sense of themselves.

Please share a few thoughts about you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗r experiences with The White Mountain School: During my years at The White Mountain School I was able to grow as a person through the different opportunities they offered. I arrived at WMS as a shy person who was not particularly fond of the great outdoors, and was more of a city person. Three years later I found myself student assisting a backpacking trip and involved in the mountain biking as a sport. Through WMS strong outdoor program, emphasize on community, challenging (yet supportive) academics, and on environmental consciousness I was able to expand my knowledge of our planet, and how our actions directly influence the world we live in. The support system I was able to get at WMS is unlike any other I have experienced. My professors pushed every one of their students to become the best student they can be, and believed in their potential. My peers encouraged me to try new things and to step out of my comfort zone because of their unconditional support. I was able to try new things such as backpacking, mountain biking, and learn different skills while camping during our Field Courses, which are week long trips based on the student's interest in order to not only try something new, but to apply what they have learned into action by having an academic component to it. The White Mountain School seeks to produce conscientious people who value and respect the sense of community. Without realizing it WMS has given me the skills to succeed in anything I decide to pursue in life, and has helped shape me into a person that I am proud of. It has also helped me discover what I might want to do with my life which is to become an environmental lawyer. The White Mountain School helps students realize the greatness of the world through the new experiences they offer, and through the academic challenging courses they offer which concentrates a lot on hands-on-work in order to teach the students how to further their learning by knowing how to apply it directly to the world around them. The White Mountain School provides an environment that everyone should experience at some point in their life in order to learn more about the world around them, to challenge them academically with a support system unlike any other, and to discover who they are as well as their role in this ever changing world.

Please share a few thoughts about you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗r experiences with The White Mountain School: Going to the White Mountain School is more than just an academic pathway to college and you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗r future beyond. It is where you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 learn to build relationships and community, and life skills that you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 will carry with you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 forever. The White Mountain school taught me to take chances and try new experiences as they come. The academics kept you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 feeling challenged, yet comfortable enough to ask for help whenever you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 needed it. The teachers and faculty are always available and more than willing to help, they all want to see you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 succeed. Outside of academics the White Mountain school provides you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 with a new experience every weekend, between winter ice climbing trips, and spring mountain bike rides on the local trails, you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 won’t be bored. There are lots of leadership positions available as well, and as long as you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 have the motivation to pursue those positions than you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 will be very successful at doing so. I had the privilege to be a Proctor in the dorms for 3 years as well as Student Body Judge my senior year. After graduating from the White Mountain School you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 will take away life lessons and academic knowledge that you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 never knew was possible, and build friendships that will last a lifetime. Finally and most importantly, once you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗 leave that campus with you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗r red rose from graduation and various awards you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗’ve received, you中国福利彩票app靠谱吗’ll look back at the wooden sign on the hill, stare for a minute, and see 中国福利彩票app靠谱吗.
